▶ The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah a second time while he was still imprisoned in the quarters of the guard:

▶ Thus says the LORD who made the earth and gave it form and firmness, whose name is LORD:

▶ Call to me, and I will answer you; I will tell to you things great beyond reach of your knowledge.

─ 참으로 주 이스라엘의 하느님께서, 공격 축대들과 칼에 맞서 저항하다 파괴된 이 도성의 집들과 유다 왕궁을 두고 이렇게 말씀하신다. ─

▶ Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city and the palaces of Judah's kings, which are being destroyed in the face of siegeworks and the sword:

사람들이 칼데아인들과 싸우러 나오지만, 내가 분노와 진노로 내리친 사람들의 시체들로 그 집들이 가득 찰 것이다. 그들의 온갖 죄악 때문에 내가 이 도성에서 얼굴을 숨긴 것이다.

▶ men come to battle the Chaldeans, and these houses will be filled with the corpses of those whom I slay in my anger and wrath, when I hide my face from this city for all their wickedness.

그러나 이제 내가 이 도성에 건강과 치유를 가져다주겠다. 내가 그들을 치료하고 그들에게 넘치는 평화와 안정을 보여 주겠다.

▶ Behold, I will treat and assuage the city's wounds; I will heal them, and reveal to them an abundance of lasting peace.

▶ I will change the lot of Judah and the lot of Israel, and rebuild them as of old.

▶ I will cleanse them of all the guilt they incurred by sinning against me; all their offenses by which they sinned and rebelled against me, I will forgive.

그리하여 이 도성은 내가 이곳 주민들에게 베푼 온갖 좋은 것을 전해 들은 이 세상 모든 민족들 앞에서, 나에게 기쁜 이름과 찬양과 영광이 될 것이다. 이 도성을 위하여 내가 몸소 마련한 온갖 좋은 것과 온갖 평화를 보면서, 그들은 두려워하고 떨게 될 것이다.”

▶ Then Jerusalem shall be my joy, my praise, my glory, before all the nations of the earth, as they hear of all the good I will do among them. They shall be in fear and trembling over all the peaceful benefits I will give her.

▶ Thus says the LORD: In this place of which you say, "How desolate it is, without man, without beast!" and in the cities of Judah, in the streets of Jerusalem that are now deserted, without man, without citizen, without beast, there shall yet be heard

기쁜 소리와 즐거운 소리, 신랑 신부의 소리와 ‘만군의 주님을 찬송하여라. 참으로 주님께서는 선하시고 그분의 자애는 영원하시다.’ 하고 말하는 사람들의 소리가 들릴 것이다. 그들은 주님의 집에 감사의 제물을 바치면서 그렇게 말할 것이다. 내가 이 땅의 운명을 처음처럼 되돌릴 것이기 때문이다. 주님이 말한다.”

▶ the cry of joy, the cry of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, the voice of the bride, the sound of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the LORD, singing, "Give thanks to the LORD of hosts, for the LORD is good; his mercy endures forever." For I will restore this country as of old, says the LORD.

▶ Thus says the LORD of hosts: In this place, now desolate, without man or beast, and in all its cities there shall again be sheepfolds for the shepherds to couch their flocks.

산악 지방 성읍들과 평원 지대 성읍들, 네겝 성읍들과 벤야민 땅, 예루살렘 주변과 유다 성읍들에는 수를 세는 이의 손 밑으로 양들이 다시 지나갈 것이다. 주님이 말한다.”

▶ In the cities of the hill country, of the foothills, and of the Negeb, in the land of Benjamin and the suburbs of Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, flocks will again pass under the hands of the one who counts them, says the LORD.

▶ In those days, in that time, I will raise up for David a just shoot; he shall do what is right and just in the land.

그날에 유다가 구원을 받고 예루살렘이 안전하게 살게 될 것이다. 사람들은 예루살렘을 ‘주님은 우리의 정의’라는 이름으로 부를 것이다.”

▶ In those days Judah shall be safe and Jerusalem shall dwell secure; this is what they shall call her: "The LORD our justice."

나의 종 다윗과 맺은 내 계약도 깨져 그의 왕좌에서 다스릴 아들이 나오지 못할 것이다. 나의 시종들인 레위 지파 사제들과 맺은 계약도 마찬가지다.

▶ then can my covenant with my servant David also be broken, so that he will not have a son to be king upon his throne, and my covenant with the priests of Levi who minister to me.

셀 수 없는 하늘의 군대와 헤아릴 수 없는 바다의 모래처럼, 나의 종 다윗의 후손과 나의 시종들인 레위인들을 불어나게 하겠다.”

▶ Like the host of heaven which cannot be numbered, and the sands of the sea which cannot be counted, I will multiply the descendants of my servant David and the Levites who minister to me.

▶ Have you not noticed what these people are saying: "The LORD has rejected the two tribes which he had chosen"? They spurn my people as if it were no longer a nation in their eyes.

─ 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. ─ 내가 만일 낮과 밤과 계약을 맺지 않고 하늘과 땅의 질서를 정해 놓지 않았다면,

▶ Thus says the LORD: When I have no covenant with day and night, and have given no laws to heaven and earth,

야곱과 나의 종 다윗의 후손들을 내치고, 아브라함과 이사악과 야곱의 후손들을 다스릴 자들을 다윗의 후손 가운데에서 뽑지도 않을 것이다. 그러나 나는 그들의 운명을 되돌리고 그들을 가엾이 여기겠다.”

▶ then too will I reject the descendants of Jacob and of my servant David, so as not to take from his descendants rulers for the race of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will change their lot and show them mercy.
