▶ Thus the word of the LORD came to me:

“사람의 아들아, 마곡 땅의 곡, 곧 메섹과 투발의 으뜸 제후에게 얼굴을 돌리고, 그를 거슬러 예언하여라.

|
|
▶ Son of man, turn toward Gog (the land of Magog), the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him:
|

|
너는 말하여라. ‘주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 메섹과 투발의 우두머리 제후 곡아, 나 이제 너를 대적하겠다.

|
|
|
▶ Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.

|
나는 너를 돌려세워 갈고리로 네 턱을 꿰고, 너와 너의 모든 군대, 곧 저마다 완전 무장한 군마와 기병, 저마다 큰 방패와 작은 방패를 들고 칼을 잡은 대군을 끌어내겠다.

▶ I will lead you forth with all your army, horses and riders all handsomely outfitted, a great horde with bucklers and shields, all of them carrying swords:

또한 그들과 함께 저마다 방패와 투구를 갖춘 페르시아와 에티오피아와 풋,

고메르와 그의 온 부대, 북쪽 끝에 있는 벳 토가르마와 그의 온 부대를 끌어내겠다. 이렇게 많은 민족들이 너와 함께 있을 것이다.

▶ Gomer with all its troops, Beth-togarmah from the recesses of the north with all its troops, many peoples with you.

|
너는 너에게 모여든 모든 군대와 함께 만반의 준비를 갖추고, 너 자신은 그들을 위한 지원 부대가 되어라.

|
▶ Prepare yourself, be ready, you and all your horde assembled about you, and be at my disposal.
|

|
오랜 세월이 흐른 뒤에야 너는 명령을 받을 것이다. 결국 마지막 때에 너는 전화가 복구된 땅으로 쳐들어갈 것이다. 그 백성은 많은 민족들에게서 나와, 오랫동안 폐허로 남아 있던 이스라엘의 산악 지방으로 모인 이들이다. 그들은 여러 민족들에게서 나와 이제는 모두 평안히 살고 있다.

▶ After many days you will be mustered (in the last years you will come) against a nation which has survived the sword, which has been assembled from many peoples (on the mountains of Israel which were long a ruin), which has been brought forth from among the peoples and all of whom now dwell in security.

그때에 너는 너의 온 부대와, 너와 함께 있는 많은 민족들과 더불어 쳐 올라가, 폭풍처럼 그 땅에 다가가서는 구름처럼 그곳을 뒤덮을 것이다.

▶ You shall come up like a sudden storm, advancing like a cloud to cover the earth, you and all your troops and the many peoples with you.

주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 그날이 오면, 네 마음에 여러 생각이 떠올라, 너는 마침내 악한 계획을 꾸미고서는,

▶ Thus says the Lord GOD: At that time thoughts shall arise in your mind, and you shall devise an evil scheme:
|

이렇게 말할 것이다. ′아무 방비도 없는 저 나라로 쳐 올라가야지. 평안히 살고 있는 저 평온한 자들에게, 모두 성벽도 없고 빗장도 문짝도 없이 살고 있는 저들에게 쳐들어가야지.′

▶ "I will go up against a land of open villages and attack the peaceful people who are living in security, all of them living without walls, having neither bars nor gates,

이는 네가 약탈질과 노략질을 하면서, 한때 폐허였지만 이제는 사람들이 사는 곳, 여러 민족들에게서 모여 와 세상의 중심에 살면서 가축과 재산을 늘려 가는 이들에게 손을 대려는 것이다.

▶ to plunder and pillage, turning my hand against the ruins that were repeopled and against a people gathered from the nations, a people concerned with cattle and goods, who dwell at the navel of the earth."

|
그러면 스바와 드단과 타르시스의 상인들과 그곳의 젊은 용사들이 이렇게 따질 것이다. ′당신은 약탈질이나 하려고 쳐들어왔소? 노략질이나 하려고 군대를 불러 모았소? 은과 금을 가져가고 가축과 재산을 빼앗아 가면서, 크게 약탈질하려고 말이오?′’

▶ Sheba and Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish and all her young lions shall ask you: "Is it for plunder that you have come? Is it for pillage that you have summoned your horde, to carry off silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to seize much plunder?"

그러므로 사람의 아들아, 예언하여라. 곡에게 말하여라. ‘주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 내 백성 이스라엘이 평안히 사는 날 너는 반드시 일어날 것이다.

▶ Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog: Thus says the Lord GOD: When my people Israel are dwelling in security, will you not bestir yourself
|

|
너는 네 고장 북쪽 끝에서 많은 민족들을 거느리고 올 것이다. 그들은 모두 말을 탄 대군이며 큰 병력이다.

▶ and come from your home in the recesses of the north, you and many peoples with you, all mounted on horses, a great horde and a mighty army?
|

|
그리하여 구름이 땅을 덮듯, 너는 내 백성 이스라엘에게 쳐 올라올 것이다. 마지막 때에, 내가 이렇게 너를 내 땅으로 쳐들어오게 하겠다. 곡아, 이는 내가 그들이 보는 앞에서 너를 통하여 나의 거룩함을 드러낼 때, 민족들이 나를 알게 하려는 것이다.’

▶ You shall come up against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land. In the last days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know of me, when in their sight I prove my holiness through you, O Gog.

‘주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 너는 내가 옛날에 나의 종들, 이스라엘의 예언자들을 통하여 말한 자가 아니냐? 그들은 저희 시대에, 내가 이스라엘을 치도록 너를 데려올 것이라고 여러 해 동안 예언하였다.’

▶ Thus says the Lord GOD: It is of you that I spoke in ancient times through my servants, the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days that I would bring you against them.

나는 내 질투 속에, 타오르는 진노 속에, 그날 이스라엘 땅에 큰 지진이 일어나리라고 선언한다.

▶ and in my jealousy, in my fiery wrath, I swear: On that day there shall be a great shaking upon the land of Israel.

|
그때에 바다의 물고기, 하늘의 새, 들짐승, 땅 위를 기어 다니는 모든 것, 땅 위에 있는 모든 사람이 내 앞에서 떨 것이다. 또 산들은 허물어지고 절벽은 내려앉으며, 성벽도 모두 땅바닥으로 내려앉을 것이다.

▶ Before me shall tremble the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, the beasts of the field and all the reptiles that crawl upon the ground, and all men who are on the land. Mountains shall be overturned, and cliffs shall tumble, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

그런 다음 나는 곡을 칠 칼을 나의 모든 산으로 불러들이겠다. 주 하느님의 말이다. 그러면 저마다 제 동료에게 칼을 들이댈 것이다.

▶ Against him I will summon every terror, says the Lord GOD, every man's sword against his brother. I will hold judgment with him in pestilence and bloodshed;

|
나는 흑사병과 피로 그를 심판하겠다. 또 그와 그의 군대, 그와 함께 있는 많은 민족들 위로 폭우와 큰 우박, 불과 유황을 퍼붓겠다.

▶ flooding rain and hailstones, fire and brimstone, I will rain upon him, upon his troops, and upon the many peoples with him.

|
내가 이렇게 많은 민족들이 보는 앞에서 나의 위대함과 거룩함을 드러내고 나를 알리면, 그제야 그들은 내가 주님임을 알게 될 것이다.”

▶ I will prove my greatness and holiness and make myself known in the sight of many nations; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
