▶ "Speak to the whole Israelite community and tell them: Be holy, for I, the LORD your God, am holy.

너희는 저마다 어머니와 아버지를 경외해야 한다. 너희는 나의 안식일을 지켜야 한다. 나는 주 너희 하느님이다.

▶ Revere your mother and father, and keep my sabbaths. I, the LORD, am your God.

너희는 몸을 돌려 우상들에게 가서는 안 된다. 너희를 위하여 신상들을 부어 만들어서는 안 된다. 나는 주 너희 하느님이다.

주님에게 친교 제물을 바칠 때에는, 너희를 위하여 호의로 받아들여지도록 그것을 바쳐야 한다.

|
▶ it must be eaten on the very day of your sacrifice or on the following day. Whatever is left over until the third day shall be burned up in the fire.

사흘째 되는 날에 그것을 먹으면, 그것은 부정한 고기가 되어 호의로 받아들여지지 않는다.

▶ If any of it is eaten on the third day, the sacrifice will be unacceptable as refuse;

|

|
그것을 먹는 자는 그 죗값을 져야 한다. 그는 주님에게 거룩한 것을 더럽혔다. 그런 자는 자기 백성에게서 잘려 나가야 한다.

|
▶ whoever eats of it then shall pay the penalty for having profaned what is sacred to the LORD. Such a one shall be cut off from his people.

너희 땅의 수확을 거두어들일 때, 밭 구석까지 모조리 거두어들여서는 안 된다. 거두고 남은 이삭을 주워서도 안 된다.

▶ "When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not be so thorough that you reap the field to its very edge, nor shall you glean the stray ears of grain.

너희 포도를 남김없이 따 들여서는 안 되고, 포도밭에 떨어진 포도를 주워서도 안 된다. 그것들을 가난한 이와 이방인을 위하여 남겨 두어야 한다. 나는 주 너희 하느님이다.

▶ Likewise, you shall not pick your vineyard bare, nor gather up the grapes that have fallen. These things you shall leave for the poor and the alien. I, the LORD, am your God.

너희는 도둑질해서는 안 된다. 속여서는 안 된다. 동족끼리 사기해서는 안 된다.

▶ "You shall not steal. You shall not lie or speak falsely to one another.

▶ You shall not swear falsely by my name, thus profaning the name of your God. I am the LORD.

|
너희는 이웃을 억눌러서는 안 된다. 이웃의 것을 빼앗아서는 안 된다. 너희는 품팔이꾼의 품삯을 다음 날 아침까지 가지고 있어서는 안 된다.

▶ "You shall not defraud or rob your neighbor. You shall not withhold overnight the wages of your day laborer.

|
너희는 귀먹은 이에게 악담해서는 안 된다. 눈먼 이 앞에 장애물을 놓아서는 안 된다. 너희는 하느님을 경외해야 한다. 나는 주님이다.

|
|
▶ You shall not curse the deaf, or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but you shall fear your God. I am the LORD.

|
너희는 재판할 때 불의를 저질러서는 안 된다. 너희는 가난한 이라고 두둔해서도 안 되고, 세력 있는 이라고 우대해서도 안 된다. 너희 동족을 정의에 따라 재판해야 한다.

▶ "You shall not act dishonestly in rendering judgment. Show neither partiality to the weak nor deference to the mighty, but judge your fellow men justly.

너희는 중상하러 돌아다녀서는 안 된다. 너희 이웃의 생명을 걸고 나서서는 안 된다. 나는 주님이다.

|
▶ You shall not go about spreading slander among your kinsmen; nor shall you stand by idly when your neighbor's life is at stake. I am the LORD.

너희는 마음속으로 형제를 미워해서는 안 된다. 동족의 잘못을 서슴없이 꾸짖어야 한다. 그래야 너희가 그 사람 때문에 죄를 짊어지지 않는다.

▶ "You shall not bear hatred for your brother in your heart. Though you may have to reprove your fellow man, do not incur sin because of him.

|
너희는 동포에게 앙갚음하거나 앙심을 품어서는 안 된다. 네 이웃을 너 자신처럼 사랑해야 한다. 나는 주님이다.

▶ Take no revenge and cherish no grudge against your fellow countrymen. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

|
너희는 나의 규칙들을 지켜야 한다. 너희는 종류가 서로 다른 가축끼리 교배시켜서는 안 된다. 너희 밭에 서로 다른 두 가지 씨앗을 뿌려서는 안 된다. 서로 다른 두 가지 옷감으로 만든 옷을 걸쳐서는 안 된다.

▶ "Keep my statutes: do not breed any of your domestic animals with others of a different species; do not sow a field of yours with two different kinds of seed; and do not put on a garment woven with two different kinds of thread.

한 남자가 여자와 동침하였는데, 그 여자가 다른 남자에게 가기로 되어 있는 여종으로, 속량되지도 않고 자유가 주어지지도 않았을 경우, 배상은 하지만 그 둘이 사형을 당하지는 않는다. 그 여자가 자유의 몸이 아니기 때문이다.

▶ "If a man has carnal relations with a female slave who has already been living with another man but has not yet been redeemed or given her freedom, they shall be punished but not put to death, because she is not free.

그 남자는 자신을 위한 보상 제물을 만남의 천막 어귀로 주님에게 가져온다. 그 보상 제물은 숫양이어야 한다.

▶ The man, moreover, shall bring to the entrance of the meeting tent a ram as his guilt offering to the LORD.

사제는 그 보상 제물인 숫양을 가지고, 그 남자가 저지른 죄 때문에 그를 위하여 주님 앞에서 속죄 예식을 거행한다. 그러면 그 남자는 자기가 저지른 죄를 용서받는다.

▶ With this ram the priest shall make atonement before the LORD for the sin he has committed, and it will be forgiven him.

|
너희가 그 땅에 들어가 온갖 과일나무를 심을 경우, 그 과일들을 할례 받지 않은 포피로 여겨야 한다. 세 해 동안 그것들은 할례 받지 않은 것이나 마찬가지다. 그 과일들을 먹어서는 안 된다.

▶ "When you come into the land and plant any fruit tree there, first look upon its fruit as if it were uncircumcised. For three years, while its fruit remains uncircumcised, it may not be eaten.

넷째 해의 과일들은 주님에게 축제 제물로 바쳐야 하고,

▶ In the fourth year, however, all of its fruit shall be sacred to the LORD as a thanksgiving feast to him.

다섯째 해부터는 너희가 그 과일들을 먹을 수 있다. 이는 너희의 소출이 많아지게 하려는 것이다. 나는 주 너희 하느님이다.

▶ Not until the fifth year may you eat its fruit. Thus it will continue its yield for you. I, the LORD, am your God.

▶ Do not clip your hair at the temples, nor trim the edges of your beard.

▶ Do not lacerate your bodies for the dead, and do not tattoo yourselves. I am the LORD.

너희는 너희 딸을 창녀로 내놓아 그를 더럽히지 마라. 딸을 창녀로 내놓으면, 그 땅은 창녀처럼 되고 더러운 짓으로 가득 차게 될 것이다.

▶ You shall have a true scale and true weights, an honest ephah and an honest hin. I, the LORD, am your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
