“그때에 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다. ‘너는 먼젓번과 같은 돌 판 두 개를 깎아서, 산으로 나에게 올라오너라. 또 나무 궤를 하나 만들어라.

그러면 네가 부수어 버린 먼젓번 판 위에 쓰여 있던 말을 내가 그 판 위에 써 줄 것이니, 너는 그것을 궤 안에 넣어라.’

▶ I will write upon the tablets the commandments that were on the former tablets that you broke, and you shall place them in the ark.'

그래서 나는 아카시아 나무로 궤를 만들고, 먼젓번과 같은 돌 판 두 개를 깎아서, 그 두 판을 손에 들고 산으로 올라갔다.

▶ So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut two tablets of stone like the former, and went up the mountain carrying the two tablets.

그러자 주님께서는, 당신께서 집회의 날에 그 산의 불 속에서 너희에게 이르신 십계명을, 먼젓번에 쓰셨던 것처럼 그 판 위에 쓰셔서 나에게 주셨다.

그 뒤에 나는 돌아서서 산을 내려와, 주님께서 나에게 명령하신 대로 내가 만든 궤 안에 판들을 넣었는데, 그것들은 지금도 그 안에 있다.

▶ I turned and came down the mountain, and placed the tablets in the ark I had made. There they have remained, in keeping with the command the LORD gave me.

내가 산 위에서 먼젓번처럼 밤낮으로 사십 일을 머물렀는데, 주님께서는 이번에도 나의 간청을 들어 주셨다. 주님께서는 너희를 멸망시키지 않기로 하신 것이다.
