▶ Azariah, son of Hoshaiah, Johanan, son of Kareah, and all the insolent men shouted to Jeremiah: "You lie; it was not the LORD, our God, who sent you to tell us not to go to Egypt to settle.

▶ men, women, and children, the princesses and everyone whom Nebuzaradan, captain of the bodyguard, had entrusted to Gedaliah, son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan; also Jeremiah, the prophet, and Baruch, son of Neriah.

“네 손으로 큰 돌들을 날라다, 타흐판헤스에 있는 파라오의 궁전 입구 포장된 광장에 유다 사람들이 지켜보는 가운데 묻어라.

▶ Take with you large stones and sink them in mortar in the brickyard at the entrance to the royal building in Tahpanhes, while the men of Judah look on,

그리고 그들에게 말하여라. ─ 만군의 주 이스라엘의 하느님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. ─ ‘내가 사람을 보내어 나의 종 바빌론 임금 네부카드네자르를 데려오겠다. 그러고 나서 나는 그의 왕좌를 내가 묻은 이 돌들 위에 차리겠다. 그는 자신의 차일을 그 위에 칠 것이다.

▶ and then say to them: Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: I will send for my servant Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and bring him here. He will set his throne upon these stones which I, Jeremiah, have sunk, and stretch his canopy over them.

그가 와서 이집트 땅을 치면, 죽을 자는 죽고, 사로잡혀 갈 자는 사로잡혀 가고, 칼에 맞을 자는 칼에 맞을 것이다.

▶ He shall come and strike the land of Egypt: with death, whoever is marked for death; with exile, everyone destined for exile; with the sword, all who are intended for the sword.

내가 이집트 신전들에 불을 지르겠다. 그러면 그는 신상들을 태우거나 그것들을 전리품으로 가져가고, 목자가 제 옷을 털 듯 이집트 땅을 턴 다음 이집트에서 평화로이 떠나갈 것이다.

▶ He shall set fire to the temples of Egypt's gods, and burn the gods or carry them off. As a shepherd delouses his cloak, he shall delouse the land of Egypt and depart victorious.
