The LORD said to Moses, "Speak to Aaron's sons, the priests, and tell them: None of you shall make himself unclean for any dead person among his people,

▶ 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. “너는 아론의 자손들인 사제들에게 말하여라. ‘사제는 자기 백성 가운데 죽은 이 때문에 부정하게 되어서는 안 된다.

except for his nearest relatives, his mother or father, his son or daughter, his brother

|
▶ 다만 자기에게 가장 가까운 살붙이, 곧 어머니와 아버지, 아들과 딸과 형제는 예외다.
|

|
or his maiden sister, who is of his own family while she remains unmarried; for these he may make himself unclean.
|

|
|
|
|
▶ 또한 아직 남편이 없어 자기 곁에 있다가 처녀로 죽은 누이 때문이라면 부정하게 되어도 괜찮다.
|

|
But for a sister who has married out of his family he shall not make himself unclean; this would be a profanation.

▶ 그러나 자기 백성 가운데 어떤 사람과 혼인한 누이 때문에 부정하게 되어 자신을 더럽혀서는 안 된다.

"The priests shall not make bare the crown of the head, nor shave the edges of the beard, nor lacerate the body.
|

|
▶ 사제들은 머리를 밀거나, 수염 끝을 깎거나, 몸에 상처를 내서는 안 된다.

|
To their God they shall be sacred, and not profane his name; since they offer up the oblations of the LORD, the food of their God, they must be holy.

|
|
|
▶ 그들은 자기들의 하느님에게 거룩한 사람이 되어야 하고, 자기들의 하느님 이름을 더럽혀서는 안 된다. 그들은 주님에게 화제물을, 자기들의 하느님에게 양식을 바치는 사람들이다. 그들은 거룩해야 한다.

"A priest shall not marry a woman who has been a prostitute or has lost her honor, nor a woman who has been divorced by her husband; for the priest is sacred to his God.
|

|
|
▶ 그들은 창녀나 몸을 더럽힌 여자를 아내로 맞아들여서는 안 된다. 남편에게 소박맞은 여자도 아내로 맞아들여서는 안 된다. 사제는 자기 하느님에게 거룩한 사람이다.

|
Honor him as sacred who offers up the food of your God; treat him as sacred, because I, the LORD, who have consecrated him, am sacred.

▶ 너희는 사제를 거룩한 사람으로 대해야 한다. 그는 너희 하느님에게 양식을 바치는 사람이다. 사제는 너희에게 거룩한 사람이다. 너희를 거룩하게 하는 나 주님이 거룩하기 때문이다.

"A priest's daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death.
|

|
|
▶ 사제의 딸이 불륜을 저질러 제 몸을 더럽힐 경우, 그것은 제 아버지를 더럽히는 것이다. 그 여자는 불에 태워야 한다.

"The most exalted of the priests, upon whose head the anointing oil has been poured and who has been ordained to wear the special vestments, shall not bare his head or rend his garments,

|
▶ 자기 형제들 가운데에서 으뜸으로 뽑힌 대사제는 성별 기름을 머리에 받고 직무를 맡아 예복을 입었으므로, 머리를 풀거나 옷을 찢어서는 안 된다.

nor shall he go near any dead person. Not even for his father or mother may he thus become unclean

▶ 그는 어떤 주검에도 다가가서는 안 된다. 자기 아버지나 어머니 때문이라도 자신을 부정하게 만들어서는 안 된다.

or leave the sanctuary; otherwise he will profane the sanctuary of his God, for with the anointing oil upon him, he is dedicated to his God, to me, the LORD.

▶ 그는 성소 밖으로 나가서 자기 하느님의 성소를 더럽혀서는 안 된다. 그는 자기 하느님의 성별 기름으로 축성을 받았다. 나는 주님이다.

"The priest shall marry a virgin.
|

|
|
▶ 그는 숫처녀만을 아내로 맞아들여야 한다.
|
|
14
|
Not a widow or a woman who has been divorced or a woman who has lost her honor as a prostitute, but a virgin, taken from his own people, shall he marry;

|
|
|
▶ 과부나 소박맞은 여자나 창녀가 되어 몸을 더럽힌 여자, 이런 여자를 맞아들여서는 안 된다. 자기 백성 가운데에서 숫처녀를 아내로 맞아들여야 한다.

|
otherwise he will have base offspring among his people. I, the LORD, have made him sacred."

▶ 이렇게 하여 자기 백성 가운데에서 자식을 더럽히는 일이 있어서는 안 된다. 나는 그를 거룩하게 하는 주님이다.’”

The LORD said to Moses,

|
|
|
|
|
|

"Speak to Aaron and tell him: None of your descendants, of whatever generation, who has any defect shall come forward to offer up the food of his God.
|

|
▶ “너는 아론에게 이렇게 일러라. ‘너의 후손 대대로, 몸에 흠이 있는 사람은 자기 하느님에게 양식을 바치러 가까이 오지 못한다.
|

|
Therefore, he who has any of the following defects may not come forward: he who is blind, or lame, or who has any disfigurement or malformation
|

▶ 정녕 몸에 흠이 있는 사람은 누구도 가까이 오지 못한다. 눈먼 사람, 다리저는 사람, 얼굴이 일그러졌거나 몸이 기형인 사람,

or a crippled foot or hand,

▶ 다리가 부러지거나 팔이 부러진 사람,
|
|

|
or who is hump-backed or weakly or walleyed, or who is afflicted with eczema, ringworm or hernia.

|
▶ 곱사등이, 난쟁이, 눈에 백태 낀 사람, 가려움증이 있거나 수포진에 걸린 사람, 고환이 상한 사람은 가까이 오지 못한다.

|
No descendant of Aaron the priest who has any such defect may draw near to offer up the oblations of the LORD; on account of his defect he may not draw near to offer up the food of his God.

▶ 아론 사제의 후손들 가운데 몸에 흠이 있는 사람은 주님에게 화제물을 바치러 다가오지 못한다. 몸에 흠이 있기 때문에 자기 하느님에게 양식을 바치러 다가오지 못한다.

|
He may, however, partake of the food of his God: of what is most sacred as well as of what is sacred.
|

▶ 그는 하느님에게 바친 양식, 곧 가장 거룩한 것과 거룩한 것들을 먹을 수 있다.

|
Only, he may not approach the veil nor go up to the altar on account of his defect; he shall not profane these things that are sacred to me, for it is I, the LORD, who make them sacred."

|
▶ 그러나 몸에 흠이 있기 때문에, 그는 휘장으로 오거나 제단으로 다가와서 나의 이 거룩한 곳들을 더럽혀서는 안 된다. 나는 그것들을 거룩하게 하는 주님이다.’”

|
Moses, therefore, told this to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israelites.
