▶ 말 많은 자는 혐오감을 불러일으키고 권위를 내세우는 자는 미움을 받는다. 꾸지람을 들을 때 회개하는 태도를 보이면 얼마나 좋은가! 그러면 일부러 죄를 짓는 일이 없으리라.

▶ 미련한 자의 선물은 너에게 아무 도움도 되지 못한다. 억지로 내놓는 인색한 자의 선물도 이와 같으니 그의 눈은 일곱 곱절의 보상을 바라고 있기 때문이다.
