Woe to the city, rebellious and polluted, to the tyrannical city!

▶ 불행하여라, 반항하는 도성, 더럽혀진 도성 억압을 일삼는 도성!
|
|
2
|
She hears no voice, accepts no correction; In the LORD she has not trusted, to her God she has not drawn near.

|
▶ 말을 듣지 않고 교훈을 받아들이지 않는구나. 주님을 신뢰하지 않고 자기 하느님께 가까이 가지 않는구나.

Her princes in her midst are roaring lions; Her judges are wolves of the night that have had no bones to gnaw by morning.

|
▶ 그 안에 있는 대신들은 으르렁거리는 사자들 그 판관들은 저녁 이리 떼 아침까지 아무것도 남기지 않는다.

|
Her prophets are insolent, treacherous men; Her priests profane what is holy, and do violence to the law.

▶ 예언자들은 허풍쟁이 믿을 수 없는 사람들 사제들은 거룩한 것을 더럽히고 율법을 짓밟는다.

The LORD within her is just, who does no wrong; Morning after morning he renders judgment unfailingly, at dawn.

▶ 그 한가운데에 계신 주님은 의로우신 분 불의를 행하지 않으신다. 아침마다 당신의 공정을 펴신다. 동틀 녘마다 어김없이 하신다. 그러나 불의한 자는 수치를 모르는구나.

I have destroyed nations, their battlements are laid waste; I have made their streets deserted, with no one passing through; Their cities are devastated, with no man dwelling in them.

▶ 나는 민족들을 없애고 성 모퉁이 망대들을 헐어 버렸다. 그들의 거리를 황폐하게 하고 지나가는 자가 아무도 없게 만들어 버렸다. 그들의 성읍들은 황폐해져 사람이 없다. 주민들이 하나도 없다.

I said, "Surely now you will fear me, you will accept correction"; She should not fail to see all I have visited upon her. Yet all the more eagerly have they done all their corrupt deeds.

▶ ‘너만은 나를 경외하려니 내 교훈을 받아들이려니 이 도성만은 내가 내린 모든 벌에서 눈을 떼지 않으려니.’ 하고 나는 생각하였다. 그러나 너희는 새벽같이 일어나 모두 못된 짓만 하였다.

Therefore, wait for me, says the LORD, against the day when I arise as accuser; For it is my decision to gather together the nations, to assemble the kingdoms, In order to pour out upon them my wrath, all my blazing anger; For in the fire of my jealousy shall all the earth be consumed.

▶ 그러므로 너희는 나를 기다려라. 주님의 말씀이다. 내가 증인으로 나설 그날을 기다려라. 나는 민족들을 불러 모으고 왕국들을 모아서 그들에게 나의 진노를, 나의 타오르는 분노를 모조리 쏟아 붓기로 결정하였다. 정녕 온 세상이 내 열정의 불에 타 없어지리라.

For then I will change and purify the lips of the peoples, That they all may call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one accord;

▶ 그때에 나는 민족들의 입술을 깨끗하게 만들어 주리라. 그들이 모두 주님의 이름을 받들어 부르며 어깨를 나란히 하고 주님을 섬기게 하리라.

From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia and as far as the recesses of the North, they shall bring me offerings.

▶ 에티오피아 강 너머에서 나의 숭배자들, 흩어진 이들이 선물을 가지고 나에게 오리라.

On that day You need not be ashamed of all your deeds, your rebellious actions against me; For then will I remove from your midst the proud braggarts, And you shall no longer exalt yourself on my holy mountain.

▶ 그날에는 네가 나를 거역하며 저지른 그 모든 행실을 부끄러워하지 않아도 되리라. 그때에는 내가 네 가운데에서 거만스레 흥겨워하는 자들을 치워 버리리라. 그러면 네가 나의 거룩한 산에서 다시는 교만을 부리지 않으리라.

But I will leave as a remnant in your midst a people humble and lowly, Who shall take refuge in the name of the LORD;

▶ 나는 네 한가운데에 가난하고 가련한 백성을 남기리니 그들은 주님의 이름에 피신하리라.

|
the remnant of Israel. They shall do no wrong and speak no lies; Nor shall there be found in their mouths a deceitful tongue; They shall pasture and couch their flocks with none to disturb them.

▶ 이스라엘의 남은 자들은 불의를 저지르지 않고 거짓을 말하지 않으며 그들 입에서는 사기 치는 혀를 보지 못하리라. 정녕 그들은 아무런 위협도 받지 않으며 풀을 뜯고 몸을 누이리라.

|
Shout for joy, O daughter Zion! sing joyfully, O Israel! Be glad and exult with all your heart, O daughter Jerusalem!

▶ 딸 시온아, 환성을 올려라. 이스라엘아, 크게 소리쳐라. 딸 예루살렘아, 마음껏 기뻐하고 즐거워하여라.

The LORD has removed the judgment against you, he has turned away your enemies; The King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst, you have no further misfortune to fear.

▶ 주님께서 너에게 내리신 판결을 거두시고 너의 원수들을 쫓아내셨다. 이스라엘 임금 주님께서 네 한가운데에 계시니 다시는 네가 불행을 두려워하지 않으리라.

On that day, it shall be said to Jerusalem: Fear not, O Zion, be not discouraged!

▶ 그날에 사람들이 예루살렘에게 말하리라. “시온아, 두려워하지 마라. 힘없이 손을 늘어뜨리지 마라.”

The LORD, your God, is in your midst, a mighty savior; He will rejoice over you with gladness, and renew you in his love, He will sing joyfully because of you,

▶ 주 너의 하느님, 승리의 용사께서 네 한가운데에 계시다. 그분께서 너를 두고 기뻐하며 즐거워하신다. 당신 사랑으로 너를 새롭게 해 주시고 너 때문에 환성을 올리며 기뻐하시리라.

|
as one sings at festivals. I will remove disaster from among you, so that none may recount your disgrace.

▶ 축제의 날인 양 그렇게 하시리라. 나는 너에게서 불행을 치워 버려 네가 모욕을 짊어지지 않게 하리라.

Yes, at that time I will deal with all who oppress you; I will save the lame, and assemble the outcasts; I will give them praise and renown in all the earth, when I bring about their restoration.

▶ 그때에 너를 억누르는 자들을 내가 모두 처치하리라. 나는 절뚝거리는 이들을 구하고 흩어진 이들을 모으리라. 온 세상에서 그들의 수치를 칭송과 명성으로 바꾸어 주리라.

|
At that time I will bring you home, and at that time I will gather you; For I will give you renown and praise, among all the peoples of the earth, When I bring about your restoration before your very eyes, says the LORD.

▶ 그때에 내가 너희를 데려오리라. 그때에 내가 너희를 모으리라. 너희가 보는 앞에서 너희의 운명을 되돌릴 때 세상 모든 민족들 가운데에서 너희가 칭송과 명성을 얻게 해 주리라. ─ 주님께서 말씀하신다.
